2/ 2024 - Currently seeking volunteers for our cleaning crew!
We are interested in a group of people to come and clean the pantry. What does that look like? A small group of 2 - 3 people to help keep the pantry tidy and ready for our neighbors when they come to get their groceries. Ideally, a crew for the Wednesday afternoon or Thursday morning of distribution weeks (we are open every other Saturday) to come and do a light clean. Then opposite weeks, a deeper clean after we receive the bulk deliveries from the Food Bank. Schedules will be coordinated, and training provided! We would love for you to join our team! Do you love to plan events? We are beginning to coordinate the Stewartstown Give Local York Block Party. The event takes place the first Friday in May. The actual Giving begins at 9PM Thursday through 9PM Friday. This year we are partnering with Aviator Market Night - with the Block Party a block away on the lawn of Stewartstown United Methodist Church. There will be 6 Stewartstown non-profits participating: Stewartstown Food Pantry, Mason-Dixon Library, Stewartstown Area Senior Center, H.O.P.E., The Teaching Museum, and Affordable Housing Advocates! Last year we had games; pit sandwiches; photo booth; live band; Bonkey's Ice Cream and more! Join us on March 5th at 7pm for our kickoff meeting at Stewartstown United Methodist Church 26 S Main St, Stewartstown, PA 17363 in the library! Help us make this event a great time for all while raising funds for the non-profits in our local area who do so much for our community!
